Quality is the number one priority of Auto Temp Inc., and customers are our primary focus. We
are currently certified ISO 9002/QS9000, which is the quality standard, required by all vendors
to the automotive industry. We have also obtained ECE certification for approval in the European
marketplace, and all of our glass has been certified for compliance to ANSI/SAE Z26.1 and FMVSS
205 standards. Our quality system emphasizes constant quality improvement, and within process
control to ensure that nonconformities are discovered during the processing stage and subsequently
eliminated from our operations. Variable control is obtained by sample inspection at every stage
of manufacturing, and attribute control is obtained through 100 % visual inspection at three
different intervals of processing. Optical distortion tests and fragmentation tests are
performed during the tempering process as well. Everyone who has a hand in the production of
specific part shares the responsibility of ensuring quality and each person knows that he or she
is responsible for stopping any line if a nonconformity should occur. All nonconforming glass is
visibly marked to ensure that it is not shipped, and stored in a separate area to be reworked or
destroyed. Auto Temp, Inc. also practices test fits on particular part numbers with the quality
engineer and the manufacturing engineer present in order to see the installation and gain insight
as to critical areas of the glass and hardware where specifications may need to be tightened. Our
current specification for glass size is +.030"/-.060" unless otherwise stated by the customer. Our
current specifications on bend are +3mm/-0 variation from the O.E.M. source around the entire part.
Any cases of nonconformities found by the customer will be dealt with by prompt corrective action
to ensure that the problem is permanently eliminated, and that our overall manufacturing process
is strengthened as a result.
